PEOPLE

1997年加入吉隆坡尊孔独中华乐团，启蒙老师赖棋霖，学习二胡。1998年担任该团拉弦组组长。1999年担任该乐团首席，并向林子维老师学习二胡。2000年加入雪隆海南会馆青年华乐团，担任二胡首席。2001年兼任尊孔独中华乐团主席及首席。2002年毕业后向黄鸿昌老师学习指导乐团，并开始自修研习乐团指挥。2003年始投入华乐团指导指挥以及发展工作。2005年加入WRIGHT ACADEMY莱特学院，担任音乐总监。

曾受邀为多个音乐会担任二胡演员以及指挥，如2002年雪隆海南会馆天后宫《秦兵马俑》演奏会二胡领奏演员。2003年为吉隆坡国油演奏厅《秦风》音乐会二胡客席演员，并始担任多个乐团指导。2004年为马来西亚文化宫殿Istana Budaya国家人民交响百人乐团音乐会二胡客席演员，国家体育馆“刘三姐”大型歌舞剧二胡演员，2005年为吉隆坡国油演奏厅马来西亚爱乐乐团MPO以及雪隆海南会馆青年华乐团农历新年音乐会二胡演员，2006年尊孔独中100周年校庆庆典华乐、管乐、合唱百人乐团指挥，2006年以及2008年两届《不了情》音乐晚宴乐团指挥，2009年雪兰莪音乐节MUSICAL  EXTRAVAGANZA闭幕仪式乐团指挥，2010年世界谭氏第4届恳亲大会晚宴乐团指挥，等等。

现任莱特乐团、芙蓉中华中学华乐团、吉隆坡尊孔独中华乐团、吉隆坡富都女中华乐团、吉隆坡沙叻秀华小华乐团、吉隆坡诗礼圣淘沙国中华乐团、吉隆坡循人小学华乐团、马来西亚谭氏宗亲会青年华乐团首席指导以及指挥。

Mr. Wong Tak Weng started to join Chinese Orchestra at age 13 from his very first instructor, Mr. Lai Kee Lim in his secondary school. He discovered his passion for music there. In 1999 he take er-hu  lesson from Erhu Instructor Mr. Lim Chee Wei. While being a student there, Mr. Wong Tak Weng joined a local group called Hainan Association Youth Chinese Orchestra and played in a concert series as the erhu principal. In year 2000s early, he learned to instruct Chinese Orchestra from Mr. Wong Hoong Cheong and studied conducting privately. In addition, he is on the faculty of The Wright Academy as Music Director and Conductor of the orchestral ensemble as well as the Music Director currently.

Besides, Mr. Wong Tak Weng has been a regular guest leader of a concert series. He brings to conducting a wealth of experience and dynamism to inspire both musicians and audiences. He is as comfortable working with elite orchestras as he is training and educating amateur and youth groups.
